Temporal Workflow Orchestration
Voltar a todas as demos
A durable, fault-tolerant workflow built with Temporal, NestJS, and AWS — including a human-in-the-loop approval step that survives restarts.
This demo shows what durable execution looks like in practice. A multi-step business process — built with Temporal, NestJS, and AWS — runs to completion reliably, even when workers crash, deploys happen mid-run, or a step waits days for a human to approve it.
What it demonstrates
- Durable state — kill a worker mid-workflow and execution resumes exactly where it left off. No lost progress.
- Human-in-the-loop — the workflow pauses for an approval signal and waits patiently (seconds or days) before continuing.
- Built-in retries & timeouts — flaky activities retry automatically with backoff, declared right in the code.
- Event-driven — the workflow reacts to external events and signals as they arrive.
How it works
- The workflow is written as ordinary TypeScript and orchestrated by Temporal.
- Activities call out to services (via NestJS) and AWS resources.
- A human approval step is modeled as a signal — the workflow blocks until it’s received, with full state preserved.
- The Temporal UI shows the complete, replayable history of every execution.
Why it matters
For processes that must not lose state — order fulfilment, onboarding, financial operations, long-running AI agents — durable orchestration turns “hope it doesn’t fail halfway” into a guarantee.
This pattern is the backbone of our Workflow Automation engagements: workflow architecture, human-in-the-loop, and event-driven systems.
